CHECKUP: HOW IS YOUR LEGAL HEALTH?
To assess your legal health, answer Yes or No to the following ten
questions:

I have a lawyer whom I consult on a regular basis, whom I trust, and
whose advice I value.

I have a last will and testament.

I periodically review it with my lawyer.

I have a power of attorney for property.

I periodically review it with my lawyer.

I have a power of attorney for personal care.

I periodically review it with my lawyer.

My lawyer has explained to me the Family Law Act and the Succession
Law Reform Act and how they work, and I have arranged my affairs to avoid
unanticipated consequences under these Acts.

Scoring: If you answered yes to all the above questions, you are
prudent. If you answered no to any of them, you have left yourself
vulnerable.
It is tempting "to leave well enough alone" and to avoid dealing
with issues until they arise. But to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

be available at a later date, and can save you money, time, and grief.
